troubleshooting text section separator

I am a little annoyed by the separator.
What I would like is a blank line before and after a text separator during compilation.
So I followed the section editing process, but the result is not there. I can’t have the blank line before.

And if I asked for a blank line afterwards, it’s even worse. What I see is a simple empty line. (cf. screenshot)

In the Custom Separator box, simply add the blank lines before and after.

One way to do this is to copy and paste a pilchrow (paragraph mark) from the text. You can see them by turning on View -> Text Editing -> Show Invisibles.
