two open windows from different folders withing the same project always open in my Binder at same time. I didn’t ask for this to happen, although my big cat went to sleep on my keyboard. Can’t find command to correct to only one doc/folder. I’ve restarted my laptop and my programs to no avail. Would love some help.
BTW: the view command is not responding for me…
Hi.
Likely you mean the split editor. (?)
The control is at the top right of the editor (any of the two, when split).

Thank you, Vincent. That does actually work. But weirdly every single folder in the Binder has a split frame, but maybe that is how it works when you select it for a single Editor document view? I try to learn Scrivener but it is so extensive to get all the features.
I should have said the editor was split and not the binder on the first post. Sorry about that confusion.
Once the editor is split, it’ll remain so (until toggled back to single), independantly of what you do in the binder.
What goes in what editor is set here :
Perhaps I have a slow responding 1. laptop or 2. Scrivener program and maybe I should reinstall for a newer version…(although I think the version that I have is the most current one)
Why reinstall?
What makes you say that, precisely? What behavior?
I see your program shows selections of “left editor, right editor, etc.” while my selection in the “Binder Selection Affects” shows “Current, Other, First and Second.” Would that be an outdated version?
If you look under Help / About Scrivener, what version does it say you have?
This is the latest Windows version:
That is the version that I have.
It says “First” and “Second” rather than Left or Top, or Right or Bottom because your editor isn’t currently split. That’s all.
My screenshot was taken while the editor was split.
That makes sense. I guess by writing fiction this morning, I may be operating in my right brain! Too much creativity for figuring out my technical issues in this (non-right brain) frame of mind!
Patience is key. Scrivener has a lot of features.
You have my deepest appreciation. Scrivener is both wonderful and challenging at the same time. I already see another mistake by not saying (non-left brain) frame of mind! I’m definitely am not thinking tech. right now lol. ![]()
My suggestion is create a scrivener learning project and put in information on the editor, binder, etc as learn nuggets here or with Oliver’s Webinars, or you tube videos.
