typing problem

Hi,
I am not sure if this is a bug or something else. If this has been covered elsewhere, please direct me there.

I am using Ubuntu 11.04 on a Lenovo laptop.

If I delete a long block of text by holding down the backspace key or hold down the arrow key for about 5 or more seconds, everything gets slow. I mean I type at normal speed and only 1/2 the characters will appear on the screen and the cursor seems to get stuck. “This is a pen” will be “Th sp.” It happens in editor and full screen mode.

I have to quit and restart Scrivener to get it to stop.

Any help anyone can give me would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I am having a similar problem in that when I double click to highlight a word, it highlights a word on the line below where I click. The cursor seems to jump all over the page and when I click on the down arrow at the right side of the editor screen nothing happens (up works fine). I am using Ubuntu 11.04 on a Toshiba laptop. When I run the Windows version on my other machine, all works fine. Let me know if there is something I have done wrong (still new to Linux and not having install Wizards to guide my hand). Thanks for all the hard work and assistance.
