Using Scapple on old mac

Scapple on my old mac (10.13.6) is v1.4 (1122) and on the newer mac (12.6.3) is 1.4.2 (8459). Are the files saved by the two versions interchangeable?

I think the file format is the same, but there were extensive changes to the underlying operating system frameworks between the two versions. So I would recommend doing some testing to confirm that the specific files you have in mind are portable.

Yeah, that will be perfectly fine. The only thing to be aware of are boards that were made in versions prior to 1.4 having a slightly different amount of padding around the text and the edge of the note interior, but the newer versions were made to be backward compatible with these older boards, and use the older padding—so even then it’s not a big deal. What wouldn’t work so well is loading a newer board in a version prior to 1.4 as the layout of word wrapping might shift.

But again between these two versions there should be no substantial differences.
