are there any suggestions for helping maintain project integrity when i need to work a little bit here, a little bit there, hopping between 3 computers?
i have tried simply backing up to an external device, but sometimes that device doesn’t make it into my purse. I would like to be able to simply email it to myself, and i guess this is possible if i back up to a zip file and attach it?

E-mailing zipped copies are a good way to do this, and if you have an e-mail account like Gmail with a ton of storage, can also serve as a failsafe backup too. Nothing you’d want to rely on, but if everything else breaks—a last resort. A lot of people around here you Dropbox to store their zip files. This is very easy to use as it makes sure all of your computers have the same zip files.
You can use dropbox to keep the binder synced between works great. First 2GB of storage is free.
