Is it possible to use voice-to-text for transcribing into Scrivener?
I connected my Bluetooth headset device to my Mac Pro
I configured the Audio-in to my Bluetooth headset; confirmed voice transmission in Sound window of System Preferences
In Scrivener, I right-clicked to Speech > Start Speaking
I started to speak but no text appeared on the screen.
Is there help to troubleshoot?
Is there a guide or tutorial on use?
My Scrivener release 2.8.1.2
Mac OS - High Sierra 10.13.6
Speech / Start Speaking is not for dictation, but you can highlight a text and let the computer read it out loud for you.
For dictation you enable dictation in the system settings / Keyboard section and then press fn twice until you hear a sound signalling that you can start dictation just like you would do for Siri.
I successfully enabled Dictation as you instructed. I am using a bluetooth headset. Dictation recognized the mic. When testing mic in the setup window, the microphone icon is showing activity when I speak. All good, However, when I click into a document or Scrivener, press FN twice, I hear a tone but I do not see the mic icon on the screen, as the Help page indicates that I should; more importantly, no text is being transcribed. Any thoughts on troubleshooting?
Thanks for that. I never did solve the problem and resigned myself to transcribing the old-fashioned way to get the work done. I will take a look and hopefully find a fix.
