Vector Graphics in a Scrivener Document

Greetings,

I’ve just purchased Scrivener, and so far it looks amazing. The only potential problem I see at the moment is the way Scrivener handles, or doesn’t handle, images. I am a graduate student in Egyptology, so I will frequently need to produce documents which incorporate images and vector graphics.

I use a hieroglyphic text editor called JSesh. With this program, I can create an RTF file which displays hieroglyphs and normal text. The problem is, I can’t seem to import these documents into Scrivener. If I use the default settings, all of my blocks of hieroglyphs are replaced with a “page” icon, stretched to the proper size, even when compiling and printing. If I tell JSesh to export hieroglyphs as WMF or EMF graphics within the RTF file it produces, in Scrivener I see a giant grey box wherever hieroglyphs should appear.

I can export hieroglyphs as JPEG or PNG images, but this limits the image quality, and can make life very difficult, juggling what could be hundreds of small images. Is there any way to get Scrivener to work with vector graphics?
