Villa Diodati - A NiaD writing event

I used italics for my flashback sequences. I find that some people hate them, and some don’t mind. Once learned, old habits die hard. :see_no_evil:

On waiting, with trepidation, for Mr Fender to do his midnight thing, I’ve been trying to decide if ‘auxbuss’ refers to the auxiliary bus on a mixing console, or if it means an auxiliary kiss… with the rimshot I’m plumping for the former.

Now, I have to get back to bothering the cat.

I had gotten mine submitted just before the deadline too.

Hope not 00.00 yet at your end?

Few. I got stuck tryin to decrease from 4000 to 3000.
Got it to 3700, and then noticed, that I have copied a huge chunk of text by accident. Removed it and got 2500, and frantically started to put back all “shaved” sentences from the introduction…

Only 13 minutes to go.

Hi everyone!

The completed collection is now ready to download – the links are all in the very first post of this thread!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part!

We wrote 40 stories together!
To put that in context: MR James, one of the absolute masters and legends of the ghost story, only wrote 33 in his entire life!

Special thanks, of course, to the lovely people at Literature and Latte for very generously hosting us on their forums and making the Scrivener engine that made all this possible.

As always, I’d love to know what you thought of the event and the finished book!

This is awesome. All the usual formatted shorts. Poetry. Two movie scripts. Even a series of DMs. Narrative devices galore. There’s no one way to tell a ghost story.

I do miss having to study a brief and write and polish in 24 hours

Edited to add: Thank you Rog and L&L for making this joint writing event a success after so long a hiatus!

Apologies, pigfender, I had a super busy weekend that kept me away from the computer. Well done on all the writing, everyone!

Just a heads up – and thanks to @ConradG for spotting it – there was a fluff in the ebook versions with the indents which I’ve now fixed. Of course, depending on which eReader you’re using and what settings you have, things will look differently – especially if you have large font sizes selected – but these should read much more nicely now!!
