Visual cue for files excluded from the compile

It would be nice if items excluded from the compile were identified in the binder by a special icon, color, or style, instead of only in Outline view. I manually change the icons to the warning sign, but would prefer something automatic. Thanks.

Thanks, we might consider something along these lines in the future. In the meanwhile, as you note, you can use a special icon to help out—if it is for a predictable class of items (like chapter notes for example) you can make a document template that has both the icon and the exclude from compile status built-in.

Most of my excludes came after I wrote them, but that’s a good tip for a pre-planned exclude. Thanks!

I would also like a feature like this if it doesn’t exist yet. I don’t always know beforehand whether something will be included in compile, and so if I exclude from compile, and want that to be visual in the binder, I then also change the document icon each time. I think having it visible in the corkboard would also be useful.

You can do this now by assigning a “Not Compiled” label and then choosing the option to show Label colors in the Binder, Corkboard, etc.
