Hi. I’m on a Windows PC and have a 400ish page Word document in .docx format, which is separated into chapters. Each new chapter has the custom style Abook Chapter. Is there a way (in Scrivener 3.1.5.1) to use Import and Split to split at this specific style? (I haven’t found a way to designate the style that I want to use for splitting, and the default option isn’t splitting at chapters).
If this isn’t possible I can just go and add a # to each chapter and split that way, but was hoping I could just designate style to split at.
I don’t have Word at hand to test this, but I suspect you can do a search and replace in Word for all the text styled “Abook Chapter” by prefixing with a # or something like that, then import that modified doc into Scrivener. Experiment.
Make sure the Style has an “Outline Level” in its Paragraph settings. Viewing the document in Outline view should result in a structured, indented document.
Other Styles could also have this Level set a notch higher, and you will Import and Split to a nicely nested structure in the Binder.
Thank you @AntoniDol - added an ‘outline level’ to the style as you suggested and Scrivener picked that up without any problems and split the document correctly.
