I can’t open anything, recent or otherwise with Scrivener. Any help would be appreciated. I followed the steps and cannot seem to open even from a backup which is much older than my recent work anyway… so I’m horrified if I lost all that recent content.
Yes, it’s on onedrive and encrypted through boxcryptor. I’m working with support to try and problem solve it. If incomplete sync took place, what steps are recommended then?
In Finder select the folder holding the files, and check for status of keeping the files on the device. Might make a difference. Check the OneDrive documentation also.
One thing we generally recommend is to move the file out of the sync folder and let it download to your local device and then try opening it. Does it open that way?
If automatic backups are turned on, you should have a backup from the last time you closed the project (unless you frequently work on iOS, which is incapable of automatic backup). If that’s not the case, you’ll need to troubleshoot why your backups aren’t working as expected. If you do work frequently on iOS, you’ll want to get in the habit of doing a quick manual backup when you do any heavy lifting in the app: https://scrivener.tenderapp.com/help/kb/ios/guide-to-keeping-ios-projects-backed-up It’s not great for data security to have the only copy of your recent work in one place, let alone one place that’s being synced.
