When added commnet or footnote to some Select Text, I can not edit the text anymore, Why?

I am using Srivener 1.9.7 (win).

If I want to edit the text that have comment or footnote, I have to delete the text, it’s pretty annoying.

Is it a bug or that how it design?

I’ve had tha same problem. People suggest we must use inline footnotes, but it’s not the ideal. They need to do something about it.
