When I run Scrivener in 13.10 I get the following

The program launches and I can work and everything is saving nicely but I get the following in terminal.

p11-kit: couldn’t load module: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkcs11/p11-kit-trust.so: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkcs11/p11-kit-trust.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
p11-kit: couldn’t load module: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkcs11/gnome-keyring-pkcs11.so: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkcs11/gnome-keyring-pkcs11.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have no clue what this stuff means. When it comes to Ubuntu am competent at copy, cut and paste and doing as I am told and that’s about it. Any advice would be great.

That error can be safely ignored.

It means that the 32-bit version of the package “gnome-keyring” is not installed (probably because you are running a 64-bit version of Ubuntu).

The 32-bit gnome-keyring package can be downloaded from https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-keyring/3.8.2-0ubuntu3/+build/4724593.

I found that the 32-bit package for gnome-keyring will not install due to an uninstallable “libgcr-3-common:i386” package. I was able to install the shared libraries manually by extracting the archive with dpkg -x, then copying the files into /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/ .
