I downloaded a premade template… After unzipped, saved to my computer files, but now how do I open it in a Windows program? I can’t find it. It says (as I saved the template upon download) that it would be in my AppData/Scrivener… and I don’t see that linkage… Help!
I believe the process would be:
- download the template, which is probably in the form of a single compressed .zip file, to some accessible location on your PC (desktop, download folder, etc.)
- decompress/unzip it, which should result in a .scriv Scrivener project folder, inside which you’ll find the project.scrivx file and some folders
- open the project.scrivx file in Scrivener (either double click it in Windows Explorer or File > Open it from inside Scrivener)
- review/modify as necessary
- File > Save As Template
See 7.7 TEMPLATES in the Windows Scrivener User manual (available via Help > Scrivener Manual, also available as a downloadable PDF at literatureandlatte.com/support.php#Scrivener ).

Hope that is of some assistance.
Actually, if it was saved properly as a template, it should be a .scrivtemplate file that you extract from the zip. After extracting, you would import it into Scrivener by clicking the “Options” button in the New Project window and then “Import Templates…”, which will let you browse to where you saved the file and select it for import. It will be added to the category the creator assigned it.
