Thank you, this The Vapour Trail of Scrivener for iOS and this A Scrivener for iOS Developer Diary are the news I, for one, have been waiting for. Disappointing to see that the release is still some way off but this is substantive news and not the usual “later”. If you’d kept us informed like this earlier then there would have been no need to write such a long blog entry.
Should you want a beta tester then you know how to get in contact.
Thanks for taking the time for this detailed reply. I admit I’d been hoping for a version for NaNoWriMo, but is good to see a firm ‘no’ for that, so that I can get back to worrying about the story.
Thanks for the blog post and the diary. I’m a commercial developer, I know how long things go and how hard even the “simplest” feature can be sometimes. Independent, automated testing of the sync code could be a big help in not only finding bugs pre-release but in preventing new bugs post-release. If you’d like to chat about it, drop me a line.
So, the other day I was asking a friend to explain to me why I’d want an iPad. When I finally got it through my 62-year-old brain, I realized there was no reason to get one until I could use Scrivener on it. So I went this site to see where you were at with it and caught up on the thread. Let me just say 1) After 3 years on Scrivener I’m still amazed at how good it is…and still finding ways to use it and 2) the proof will be a minor, if not major, bump in iPad sales when we Scrivener devotées finally have a good excuse to buy one.
I.e., take your time. We writers are already in your debt and the iOS version will only make us more so.
BTW: Ditto re finding ways to use Scapple. Cheers.
Hi,
I see that the discussion is big around scrivener and its ios version but what about scapple? The only reason why I cannot use it really is because I cannot sync it with my Ipad. Is there any news when this will be possible?
Thanks
