I am delighted to use some of my favourite iOS apps on my new M1 powered MacBook Pro.
But, alas, Scrivener was not one that was available.
Is this something that will or may be happening?
No. We already have a Mac OS version.

Note that with respect to Scrivener, these alternatives are unsupported and entirely at your own risk.

Thank you very much for the reply.
I have, and enjoy, the desktop version of Scrivener.
I remember, in the beginning Keith said something to the effect he didn’t see the need for an iOS version. That was way in the beginning, and I was one of those who was crying out for it. When the iOS version became available, I leapt at the chance to buy a copy . I was well impressed with the quality of the iOS version. It was small, tight and powerful. I was greatly pleased. When I was out, I would use my iPad and an attached keyboard to write.
Then it was time to upgrade my iPad, and between the cost of the iPad, a keyboard and case the cost was coming near the cost of a MacBook Air (which has its own keyboard attached). AND the desktop version of Scrivener, is a beauty - it really is good. I was using both the iOS and desktop versions.
So, it was just a small step to step off the iPad and go with full Scrivener for my writing. Much as Keith intimated way back when…
My M1 MacBook Pro. I have been pleasantly surprised by some very good iOS apps that are now available on my M1 MacBook Pro. I was curious to know if the iOS Scrivener would be coming. It is not - and that isno disappointment for me as the desktop version is soooo good.
Thanks for indulging my curiosity. Have a Happy (& safe) Christmas.
So does that mean that the desktop version of Scrivener will work on the new M1 MacBooks?
Yes, it already does.
More importantly, Scrivener is already a universal app so it runs natively on M1

I’m afraid not. Scrivener for iOS is pared-down version optimised for that platform. Scrivener for macOS has much greater functionality and flexibility. We aim to keep the versions separate for the foreseeable future.
