I know that word count is not default in script mode but I wondered if there is a way to do a word count when in script mode pls? I have script pages in my novel so thsoe pages need to go towards the word count for my novel
Of course when compiled to word, I get their word count included there but I wouldn’t mind having the choice to have it in scipt mode in scrivener too…? if possible? is there a way?

panel counts compiled words, regardless of the editor input mode used to type them. This is the only reasonably accurate count in the software as well, so that should be your go-to method when you want something definitive. It sounds like you’ve been using the footer bar, which is an estimate that is biased toward performance (avoiding typing lag). It will count text that may not compile, like inline notation, and it won’t count text that isn’t in the editor, like inspector footnotes. In scriptwriting mode it is removed to make space for the other typing hints that can appear in this area.
