Hi there. I’m experiencing persistent issues where the word count at the bottom of the page does not match the words in the document.
For example, I open a chapter and hit cntrl-a to select all, and it correctly shows the word count within the selection as 2754. However, it says the word count is ‘of 4717’ for the entire chapter, which is incorrect, as all text in the chapter is included in the 2754.
If I type into the chapter, then the full chapter word count will reset and be correct again. But often I come back the next day, and it’s gone back to 4717, or whatever incorrect count it was at previously. But this is inconvenient when I select multiple chapters and try to see the word count added up. Or flip through them to read and the word count at the bottom is wrong.
Cloud service - yes, the project is in my standard windows onedrive folder which syncs between my desktop and laptop. If this is the cause, is there a way to prevent it?
Yes, I’m sure it’s incorrect. The chapters have no subdocuments.
Make sure that OneDrive is configured to make the project available offline. My hypothesis is that there’s an incomplete synchronization that is causing Scrivener to report a previous number, because the file with the accurate number needs to be fully downloaded.
