I migrated all my Scrivner preferences and templates to the new machine but still some things don’t look right.
When I view a document in “Wrap Mode” there is too much white space, the page is too wide and the back ground color too narrow. How do I make the colored part wider?
According to the settings for appearance it is supposed to be based on “Page Setup Settings” but that doesn’t seem to do anything if I change it.
What I see is that your margin isn’t the same size on both sides, despite your screenshot saying it actually is.
Check your paragraph’s first and following lines indent. – And/or display and have a look at the ruler.
…And perhaps are you styling this or these paragraphs?
Looking at the Ruler in your screenshot, the text is aligned where the indent markers on the Ruler say it should be. So the next thing to check would be the Format → Paragraph → Tabs and Indents pane.
To clarify how things work: The “margin” settings in the Page Setup pane define the boundaries of the text block relative to the physical page. The Ruler settings define where the text is relative to that block. Among other things, this is how Scrivener is able to change the page size (via the Compile command) without forcing the user to change anything in the Editor.
Ok, so between “Page Setup” and Format>Paragraph>Tabs and Indents
I have no problem dealing with the position of the text. But my problem is that the blue background should be much wider. BTW this is with version 3.4
It seems that the (white) page is much too large.
I will now switch to my old computer and upload what it is supposed to look like using the previous version of Scrivner.
I had imported all settings from old to new. They are both at 400%.
Because I imported them the setting I can’t figure out what is different except for the version. But, this also worked in even earlier versions of Scrivener.
