Writing History average counting from what date?

I created a writing project in 2021. I love (and only recently discovered) the “Writing History” function, especially that it tracks the average of words written per day.

However, I’m very confused about which days the average is including? Right now, it says I have 262 days “Writing Days”. Is that just how many days I’ve opened the project? I do not have “writing days” selected - seems to be all 7. I also am now well beyond my project target, and have a 500 words per session target.

Is there a way to reset the average? What days is it counting?!

TIA!

You can delete the writing history file which reset writing history. File is in scrivener project in file folder for windows version.

Thanks! I appreciate your help.

Will this work for MacOs?

Assume so backup project before you do it. Or better save current project using save as and name experiment and see if works and original is untouched.

As your .scriv file is actually a package, you need to right/Ctrl-click on it and choose Show Package Contents.

“Writing days” are days on which you opened the project and made at least one change to the word count. (Either an addition or a deletion.) So opening a project to look something up doesn’t count, nor does moving existing documents around.
