S with Mac OS in dark mode loses the synopsis title under notes and makes the entries impossible to read.
I have noticed a similar effect with iOS. If a window is open through the mode shift, sometimes some elements don’t change when they should. Manually cycling the mode back and forth fixes that issue on my end.
I have not noticed this effect within Scrivener, but my first thought would be to try cycling dark mode to see if it makes a difference. If it does, it will be a OS issue, not a Scrivener issue.
The Scrivener → Settings → Appearance → Inspector & Notes → Colors tab allows you to customize this area.
I’m not seeing what you described in your other post, though. Could you tell me which version of Scrivener you have, please, and with which version of Mac OS?

Yes, that tab allows you to customize the Notes section but not the Synopsis section.
Furthermore, I cannot see the tiny arrow that allows me to access outline elements (to add/delete, etc.). I can get to that tab from the menu, but have no way to add elements.
My Computer is a Mac laptop MX4 with 36GB of RAM. I am on Tahoe 26.6.
I have three external screens… and I believe that may be the culprit?
What version of Scrivener, please? The Scrivener → About Scrivener command will tell you.
Multiple screens shouldn’t matter, but it’s worth checking to see if you have the same behavior regardless of which screen has the Scrivener window.
Tahoe 26.6 is a beta version. It’s possible that this is an Apple issue, too.

The chevron button menu in the outliner header only appears when the vertical scrollbar is visible in Scrivener 3.5.2, a bug noted in a previous report. To create new custom metadata that could be displayed as columns, go to Project ▸ Project Settings, or click the “…” button in the Custom Metadata header in the Inspector’s metadata tab.
