Can you use Python and Scrivener together?

Oh, I see. Sorry. Unless it depends on anything Mac-specific, I suspect the script can be adjusted easily (like changing paths and stuff). You have everything else in place, Scrivener, your project (same file format on both platforms), Quarto, Python…

I guess only @cavalierex can answer that.

Yes, I’ll work on an update to this thread: Scrivener → Squarto - #21 by cavalierex

It’s been a year or so since I updated it. And a lot has changed!

I’m looking forward to it. Squarto is one of the tools I’m most excited to try if/when I return to macOS.

Not related at all to planning/outline tasks, but once you’re actually writing your work –

IMHO, Scrivener’s Word Frequency tool under Project Statistics is a great idea with a not-so-great implementation, at least in Windows. There have been a few threads on how it could use some improvements.

Seems to me developing an improved Word Frequency analysis tool would be a perfect application for a Python project. In fact, the poster of this 2023 thread planned to do just that, and provided their outline for doing so. (No idea if they actually implemented it or not.)

Best,
Jim
