Hello - I am having issues compiling my document into a Word Doc in Pages. I have tried Text Tidying, but after compiling into Pages, the document still has several blank pages after a chapter, and the formatting gets skewed. I’ve gone over the interactive tutorial, but I still have not resolved the issue. Any advice would be welcome! Thanks
The blank pages after a chapter are probably from the compile settings, not your manuscript. Have a look at this forum post on how to manage how the book/section/chapter/scene breaks are seperated.
It’s not possible to Compile directly to Pages, as Apple hasn’t published the format.
If you’re Compiling to .DOCX – which is what we would recommend, it might be helpful to open the file in Word itself in order to determine whether the problem is a Compile issue or a format conversion issue.
You might also try using the View → Text Editing → Show Invisibles command in Scrivener, as that will show stray paragraph breaks and other characters that might cause odd formatting.
Thanks for the information @kewms I do compile in .DOCX, as most publishers and editors want it in that format. I do not have Word. When I bought Scrivener, my understanding was that I wouldn’t need it Whenever I compile in .DOCX, it automatically opens in Pages. I will try what you have suggested.
