The scene with Jaysen and the dolphins is definitely not going to read like a slice of life. I mean, plausibility questions aside, I don’t think dolphins can even do that. Commandeering his dinghy, I mean. Not to mention piloting pirate spacecraft.
Having been for a stroll, I am amending this to ‘Wind-swept cottage on the brink of nowhere.’ The sea crash on the rocks seems as fretful as I about my 500-1500. Since my dish likes some ten hours of maceration, I have technically already started the cooking part.
Hi @pigfender, I want to create block quotes in the RTF file because I was citing instant messaging history in it. What is your preferred way to do so? Tabs? Indents? Thanks.
Just italicised text with an indent is probably cleanest. As long as it’s clear in the file you send over I’l do my best (indents may not survive in all formats)
Good lord, you’re all so quick … I was assuming we have to do the whole thing within these 20 hours before 8 p.m. I have written the blurb — it’s not actually a story as such — and I think I have written out the recipe, but I need to check the quantities as I normally cook this entirely by eye! So now I have to start preparing it, cooking it and taking photos!
Mark
Postscript … all this on a day when we’re in the middle of buffing and re-oiling our wooden kitchen worktops! (Why isn’t there an emoji for beating yourself over the head with a frying pan!)
Ay Mark, I already had my CiaD story in mind and my recipe committed to memory for weeks, so it was just a matter of getting the event sequence right today!
Well… ARSE! I knew there was something I should be doing today. The ruddy cat didn’t remind me (an excuse I’ll stick to, just in case I’m a wee bit late).
Well, I’ve known for weeks what I’ve been going to cook and also what I was going to say about it. But the blurb is non-fiction… kind of a fragment of a memoire with added information.
Anyway, various other chores done, and the other half approves though agrees that I need to check quantities, so it’s time to start cooking.
You will need to include an instructional photo of your special technique with the frying pan. Also, if your recipe calls for one tablespoon Murphy’s oil, we will know something went wrong.
