Difficulty formatting the Outliner view

So I have a folder called “Relatively Organized.”
Inside it are folders for chapters. (Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc.)
Inside those are sections of chapters, which are text files.

Tonight, when I clicked on “Relatively Organized” in the Outline view, it would list only the chapter folders, so
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Chapter 4

And then something happened (I don’t know what.) And the first two chapters are also listing their sections. So now it’s

Chapter 1
Section 1
Chapter 2
Section 1
Section 2
Chapter 3
Chapter 4

I have tried for an hour to figure out what the heck I did. I would like the sections to not display. I like how I had it. What did I do and how do I undo it? Thanks for any help.

Nope. That affects things in the Binder. I’m trying to affect things in Outliner mode.

It’ll affect the binder if that is the last place you’ve clicked.

Make sure the focus is on the outline-editor.

Aha! Thank you.

Honestly, having the term “outline” sometimes apply to the binder and sometimes to the outliner view drives me nuts.

So how did I end up with some of the sections displaying and some not?

I don’t know.
Likely you clicked close to the left and got the arrow. (?)

Whatever you did…, just don’t do it again.

OMG, I see the tiny arrows now in the Outliner view. Light gray on a slightly lighter gray. Ugh.

Thank you.

Not that I know of. I’ve been using this for a while, but I’m certainly not an expert.

You’d also be better off making this a new topic. People are more likely to see it.

It is another topic.
Click on its title. (In Antoni’s post above.)

What you’ve read is only an excerpt from the linked post from this other thread.

Ah, ok. That’s a weird arrangement for a forum.

No, that’s @AntoniDol referring you to a thread that explains how to change the binder arrows so that you can see them better.
