Feature Request: Timer

Time statistics would be nice for those who measure time on task instead of words, so a timer feature would be welcome. (I think this should be pretty easy to implement. I’m surprised we don’t already have it.)
Features:

  • Elapsed time since Scrivener opened
  • Settable count up and count down timers (like word count targets, but for time).
  • Hide/show timer option
  • Accumulated time for project/page/session
  • Etc.

From 2016: Timer?
There are many that have asked, but it isn’t likely to happen. Too many timers from other sources.

Of course there are lots of other timers (and lots of other word processors, for that matter), but an integrated time would be nice and easy to add so I don’t have to toggle between apps.

People who don’t use timers may not appreciate this. To me, counting words has always seemed kind of fussy. I count butt-in-the-chair time.

Frankly, I’m surprised this simple, easy to use, easy to add, useful feature isn’t already available!

This thread has a collection of links to existing discussions on this. I would suggest reviewing them, and perhaps adding new comments to them if you have a new argument to make. I’m closing this duplicate thread so as to avoid reiterating over all of the same points that have already been discussed.
