Right. In my upcoming book Mastering Scrivener, the steps list of implementing your own Theme has 30 steps.
Where to begin? Well, here’s where I learned it from. And I’ve learned from the best. @BadScribbler
To begin with, I would like to say I love Scrivener 3 for Windows and it is an irreplaceable software for me that I work in every day.
However, since it came out, I have trouble figuring out how to manage themes…
First of all, whenever I try to customize any other theme than “Default”, it doesn’t allow me to change the color of the entire Binder column (as you can see in the printscreen).

Secondly, I can’t find any way to save…
Hello,
I have been trying to save themes as i just updated scrivener from 1 to 3. But the tab for Save Theme is grayed out and i cannot click it. What can i do to fix it?
While Scrivener 1.9 was just fine for folks that cannot spot 8-point font on a 1080P screen, 3.1 is decidedly not. It literally feels like the Mac version was ported to Windows with the same GUI; one and done.
Let me just say first that 3.1 under the hood is a good improvement over 1.9. But the GUI sucks. One foresight that can save it, is being able to customize colors, but should a user have to spend hours and days to create a layout that makes the software usable?
I’m literally on the fence…
Or, if you are a patient, I’ll have a 30 step process on 5 ‘pages’ in one e-book for you in a few week time, I hope…
Hope this helps.
