I can't get Open> With Compilable sub documents to work in Scrivenings

Hi, I’ve tried following the instructions in this forum post: Hiding specific textfiles in scrivenings - possible?

It’s the post by MimeticMouton, which worked for the OP.

What I’m trying to do is to hide specific text files from the scrivenings display. I have each scene of my short story as a separate text file. It’d be really handy to hide some scenes.

I know I can just choose the scenes by command and click. The drawback with this is that when I go to add and new text file, all of the previously selected text files become unselected.

I’d appreciate and help with this please.

Many thanks.

Works for me.

Select the tag, then deselect Include in Compile for any scenes you don’t want displayed.

Thanks for that. When I deselect that box, that scene is still showing in the scrivenings pane. Is there anything else I’m missing. I’m on a Mac M4 mini, not that that should make a difference.

Thanks again

Did you select the relevant folder then Right-Click > Open > With Compilable Sub Documents? ( or select Navigate > Open > With Compilable Sub Documents)?

No, I didn’t. Thanks so much. I’ve spent hours trying to figure it out. Wish I wasn’t so obsessive. ;o)
