Further update:
I have Scrivener running happily in this new little app. I’ve automated the fix for the blurry fonts, the hang on the texttospeech, and I’m now on what I hope is the last hurdle, license activation. If I get that sorted out I’ll be shipping the files off to someone much smarter than me for a review before sharing them with some testers. I’ll probably make a new post to see if any of you are interested when/if we get that far along.
So I did a user search for KB and it said that was too short. So I searched Keith. I got two results:
keithB - private profile
Keith B Walters
I’m thinking it is the first one since the second one just has B as a middle initial. Do you know?
Please do post again when it’s ready to use/test. I am very interested. Thank you for all your work!
I’ve just switched an old Windoze 10 machine to Linux Mint Cinnamon. This thread is part of why I was willing to do it. I’m no dev, but I’m pretty savvy and if you need someone to test, please let me know. I’m a Product Manager as a day job so I’m pretty good a breaking things. ![]()
It’s this guy: https://forum.literatureandlatte.com/u/kb/summary
(Incidentally, searching for users specifically won’t hit the “too short” restriction.)
I’ve asked about using the icon, but haven’t gotten a response yet. We shall see

I’ve been tweaking this Scrivenix project for days now and I have it as good as I can get it testing myself. I’m ready for others to give it a spin and let me know if it runs or falls flat.
I’ve done multiple clean installs on Fedora with Gnome and Linux Mint with Cinnamon.
This is for testing at this point, not yet trusted for general use. Some terminal commands which I’ve provided are required to install the files at this point, but once we are out of Beta and this is uploaded as a true Flatpak it will work without a need for the end-user to ever touch a terminal.
If you aren’t comfortable with doing a few terminal commands you probably don’t want to test and that’s fine. I made a new post to keep the conversation about Scrivenix in one place:
Thanks guys for all the encouragement and support. This was both easier and harder than I thought it would be! ![]()
P.S. Are there any other places I might look for beta testers outside of this forum? Are there other social media groups or forums that you all are aware of?
