Is there a way to rename a character or paragraph Style?

Hi kewms,

Thank you for the reference to Inline Footnotes and Inspector Footnotes.

The ability to ‘reference Inline Footnotes’ (in § 18.2.2 of the manual) to keep the main text clear of long and complex footnotes is a nice touch. I’m sure I will be using that feature going forward.

My attempt to use Inline Footnotes as endnotes, distinct from Inspector Footnotes, however, did not appear to work. The Inline Footnotes appeared in the compiled .tex file no different from regular Inspector Footnotes, and in the compiled PDF appeared in the same location alongside the regular Inspector Footnotes. I did not see a way to have the Inline Footnotes appear as endnotes, i.e. at the end of each section, instead of at the bottom of each page.

My guess is this may be due to my use of LaTeX with Scrivener, or perhaps I misinterpreted how Inline Footnotes are meant to work as endnotes. I’ve searched through the Scrivener manual and the Interactive Tutorial…, but I did not find a clear demonstration how Inline Footnotes are to be used as endnotes. I’m not sure I understand what was meant by “Endnotes vs. Footnotes is a Compile decision.”

For now, instead of using Scrivener’s Inline Footnotes, I’m going to shift my research toward how LaTeX handles endnotes, not that I’m confident the outcome will be any better.

Thank you again for the reference,
scrive
