Thanks to everyone who took part, it was a lot of fun.
You can find the books, the Scrivener project, and the compile settings used in this post. Please use that post for any feedback on the book as well.
For feedback on the event itself, please use this thread!
Ok, the original post follows below:

Every October for the past three years, a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens have ignored their civic and moral duty to change the world, choosing instead to invent whole new ones by writing a novel in a day. A whole novel, in a single day.
On Saturday October 25th we're going to do it again.
What is it?
Check out the FAQs post for more detail, but essentially...
1) At midnight (UK time) on the day of the event you'll be emailed a brief of what you need to include in your chapter.
2) You go away and write your section without any knowledge of the wider story or where your chapter fits in the book.
3) You return your chapter by 8pm (UK time) at which point it's turned into ePub, mobi and PDF books using the magic of Scrivener.
In other words, between us we will write a novel in a day. People who've taken part in past say it's fabulous fun.
How do I sign up?
If you're up for the challenge of taking part (and have read the FAQs to know what you're letting yourself in for), let me know by posting in this thread!

This post will be updated as people register their interest, to save people trawling through what I’m somewhat optimistically hoping will be a long thread!
I think all other compare to the trouble of the +3. If you really push me I’ll raise the stakes on you… I see no reason that you should have a peaceful day on the 25th of Oct.
Which reminds me. I need to ask you some questions. On a regular basis.
Sorry, one and all; I’m going to be hurtling — well metaphorically hurtling — round China this year at that time … the visit I was supposed to make last year if I hadn’t half severed a digit!
So once again I have to say — as they famously do on “Dragon’s Den” — "I’m out!
