The idea of NaNo has always scared the bejeesus out of me but found Niad empowering. (Thanks @pigfender) Still unsure about NaNo. Have many Niaders done it?

I might. I’d have to adjust my word count expectation 
Realistically could probably aim for 25,000. It’d be 24,700 more than I usually manage in a month. I am so much better with deadlines than just wombling about. I like @homeport 's idea of a buddy group.

I’ve done a few, and even made the 50k.
The NaNo website is really good now, There was a time when it kept crashing.

My favorite continuity moment was when the chapter author that came before mine chose to insert a little freelance mayhem into the bar hostage scene – that continued into my chapter – by having the bad guy start super-naturally cutting people’s heads off.
As it happened, my chapter opened with the crazy bad guy throwing his arms out and saying “Finally, some privacy!!”

Only almost right. Bespoke editions only exist for books that featured multiple chapter authors.

I’m guessing elsewhere so we’re not hijacking the NiaD thread with a NaNo convo??? I’ve had a search and can’t obviously see a current NaNo thread. Maybe some old timers (meant in the most respectful way @pigfender) can advise?
