Search & Replace with different text style?

I’ve been told that to get permission to use a trademark, I must search & replace the uses of the trademark to change it to small caps or italics.

Is there a way to do this in Scrivener, or am I stuck going through my entire manuscript and changing each instance manually?

There’s no way to do this within Scrivener, but you may be safer doing it post-compile anyhow to ensure you’re getting the proper small caps style in the final version. Small caps are a particular variant that not all fonts have, so you may need to use a separate font for the trademark text. Word or OpenOffice or the like will have the tools to do a find/replace on the style like this to change the font, size, etc. as needed.

Re: Searching for Scrivener Styles?

Back in Nov 2022, I created about a hundred new Scrivener Styles that, in turn, invoke a variety of LaTeX codes (See Scrivener Styles with LaTeX wish list ).

Today in 2024, while in the early stages of proofreading my copy, I find I will need to remove some unnecessary spacing created by the LaTeX package that is encoded as part of one (or more) of the Scrivener Styles.

I have a few hundred instances where the particular Scrivener Style (that invokes a particular LaTeX package w code) exists that I’d like to locate, and then correct the particular Scrivener text. FYI, simply adjusting how the Scrivener Style (w LaTeX code) functions will NOT correct the text that needs to be adjusted.

Without getting into too many details, my most direct approach would be to locate each instance where the particular Scrivener Style (that I created and used within Scrivener, from within Scrivener) is located. Once located, it would then take about two seconds to correct the adjoining Scrivener text in order to correct how the ultimate text appears.

So my question is simple: Is there a way to search for a particular Scrivener Style (of the hundred or so that I created) within a Scrivener project?

After some research, my guess to the answer is NO.

If so, my backup will be to instead search through the appropriate Scrivener compiled .tex file for the relevant LaTeX code. Then after determining the corresponding section in Scrivener, I’d go back into Scrivener to make the appropriate correction.
