For security, I too am planning to submit my story nanowrimo-style with each word replaced by the word ‘mystery’, and each letter replaced by ‘?’.
I’ve obviously been working too hard on this. The remaining mystery is how I’ll shrink the 5600 words I have now down to under 3000 in just three days…
Smiling, he finishes.
Strokes the cat, who yawns then purrs.
Naff or not, 'tis done.
And it’s under 2,000 words!
Perhaps I’ll add a few more tomorrow…
Well, we’re coming down to crunch time. This weekend is the deadline. I’m off out to buy writing snacks. Any suggestions?
Eek! It’s that time, and I haven’t written a word yet: I must be trying to recreate the manic pressure of a standard NIAD, with the added frisson of having to come up with the idea as well! Still, I’ve created an empty folder for this opus, and that’s a start, isn’t it?
Lots of whatever you like, and oodles of coffee!
I just wanted to see if I could say ‘rum’ before @Jaysen said ‘rum’. Does that count as a snack, though?
I would point out I have waited to start… waited. I’ve had a story ready since day one. But … booo. Waited. You happy?
I would suggest that I’ve said it several times already.
Just sent in my story! 3000 words exactly (if you include the title)
In!
Just under 2,000 words, and a day before deadline.
W00T!
Starting at 10:02p local.
Make mine a rum and spork.
Not a spork!
CRKT Eat’n Tool!
Look it up!
Well shoot! 10:46p local and I have the story where I want it! only 1K words. and by 1k words I mean … 1k words…
Off for a read and polish. I’m not sure how I feel about this being almost 100% intercharacter dialog. I like it but it feels… odd. We shall see.
11:02p local. Piggy, I’m bundling it up for your displeasure.
Happy writing to the rest of you procrastinators.
It is done but 5116 words. It’s time to dig out the bone saw and hatchet. I have some pruning to do. A scalpel just won’t do.
Hii! Almost done with my story. Where do I submit it?
See the Welcome Pack, linked from the very first post in this thread.
Morning all wishing everyone a great weekend. For anyone who has not seen it the residence on Netflix which has just come out is a great comedy based on a murder with so many suspects and red herrings you literally are not sure of suspect until the last few minutes.
