The Lippincott Dinner [aka - Villa Diodati 2]

A spork by any other name … At least it helped get the job done.

I could use on right now. Approx two-thirds the way and have hit the max count. Argh.

I specifically tried for “Hemingway this crap” this time. Mrs says it is stupidly concise. I think she was talking about the story. Could have been my attention span though.

Hi Mr Roger, just letting you know I’ve submitted my piece in case it goes into spam.

Time to remove extra adjectives, I suppose.

Yes, we’re here. It’s Submission Weekend! Woo!

Full details of where to submit are in the Welcome Pack linked in the very first post and also right here. Basically, you’re emailing your finished story to me, along with:

  • the story title
  • the name you want to be credited as in the book
  • your forum name (so I can tick you off the Lise in the second post)

The email address is in the Welcome Pack rather than here in the thread because that generates an enormous amount of spam for me.

Once I’ve received your story and checked I can open it and have all the necessary details, I will send you an email to confirm. I will also mark you down as having submitted in the second post in this thread.

If you haven’t had an email to confirm then I haven’t seen it yet – if you sent it a while ago and still haven’t had a response then please try again, and if all else fails, let me know here in this thread or via forum messages. (Note, I am also checking my junk email folders regularly through the day just in case!)

Every year (and we’ve been doing these things for quite some time now) there has been at least one person whose file I couldn’t open for some reason or another. If I can’t get hold of you to get it resent then I can’t include you in the finished book, so please do keep an eye out for the confirmation email – it might be a request to resend instead!!!

Who made up these rules anyway? I’ll have his head!

I’ve checked to see if I could possibly blame @RuthS or maybe even @kewms, but sadly I think it was me.

Of all the ham-fisted such-and-such !

Full draft just rolled in at 4859. There must be some blather in there I can spork out.

Hmm, well, I have something under way - my folder is no longer empty! Curiously, it seems to be coming out as YA which isn’t really something I’ve done before. Who knew?

Have you tried …. Rum? Rum makes everything easier (in the moment).

The submitted story is truncated but likely much improved. It is under budget and on time. Thank you again, Mr. Pigfender, for the exhilarating experience.
