Vic-k you shuld be on Jeopardy.

Ok what was the TV character’s name who’s famous line was…

“I love it when a plan comes together.”

And what TV show was that character from?

Hannibal Smith, AKA George Peppard, boss of “The A Team”

His famous line was frequently delivered as he was about to collapse as a result of some incident which suggested he didn’t know what he was talking about.

Think his first name was, improbably, John.

Phil, many of whose younger years, obviously, were ill-spent.

…not misspent enough, obviously, if all you did was watch A Team…tch!..tch!
vic

“Misspent” implies spent wrongly.

“Ill-spent” implies spent badly.

Watching dim-witted TV action programs – but there I go, getting redundant and repeating myself again – probably is not an immoral action, but it’s pretty sure to be an unproductive one, a waste of time.

The misspent time, however, often was productive and hardly to be thought of as a waste of time. (By me, that is to say; my parents – and more recently, my children – did not always agree.)

So, for instance, skill at billiards betrays a misspent youth. Knowing the anwer to trivia questions betrays an ill-spent youth. Frequent appearances in the fluffier (sorry) sections of this forum betray – what would you say, Vic, since we’re both guilty? An ill-spent dotage?

Phil

The thing i found hilarious about the A-Team was in one episode they would fire at least 1 million bullets without killing anyone and there would be at least thirty to fifty explosions that happen during the episode which of course would destroy vehicles and thorw people in the air constantly and yet no one died.

No one ever got even a scratch on themselves (the bad guys) and yet they would always be defeated.

Oh the old glory days of the A-Team…

My favorite though was Murdoc. He seemed to be the only one with some sense.

…or just out nout spent, which would allude to younger years, both illandbaddly` spent
vic

My favorite part of the A-Team was the fact that they were all on the run from the law… in a huge van with A-TEAM emblazoned on the side.

One memory my husband and I shared was a utter fascination with the old cartoon, Jonny Quest. I recently discovered I could get the whole series on DVD, and did.

And was extraordinarily pleased that, unlike many fond memories, it was just as enjoyable as when we were wee ones.

Johnny Quest!

I loved the dog. Wasn’t his name Bandit?

The answer is correct. On to the next round.

Oh, gosh, I loved Johnnie Quest. And Speed Racer. Mighty Mouse. Casper, the Friendly Ghost. And Captain Kangaroo (States only, I think). Sky King. And Roy Rogers. I was alive for the first episode of Star Trek (not reruns), though I was too young to be allowed to stay up that late.

You forgot Astro Boy, Gigantor, and UltraMan. And how everything ground to a halt on Tuesdays and Thursdays when Batman was on!

Actually, I thought of Astro Boy but didn’t write it down. Yeah…the good old days…
