I agree with @rms and @tommasoavati - sync is trivial, reliable, and while there were problems with it during the iOS 13 era back in 2019, those problems were solved long ago (fixed as of iOS 13.4). There is nothing cumbersome about it.

1. Save your projects that you want to sync to Dropbox/apps/Scrivener (or chose another folder as you see fit);

2. Make sure Scrivener on iOS is linked to the appropriate Dropbox folder (the one you chose in step 1).

3. Press the sync button; and

One more thing, while sync used to take forever, it is now quite snappy.

@wordjoy - I appreciate that you want something other than Dropbox. Candidly, if L&L could wave a magic wand and make that happen, I’d probably like that, too. But since L&L can’t do that, I do have to agree wholeheartedly with @RuffPub’s comments above. I’ve been using Scrivener on my iPad (and iPhone) for years using Dropbox sync the entire time. It has worked flawlessly (or darn near flawlessly) all this time. (I think a few years ago there was some kind of memory bug in iOS that messed thin…

I don’t know anything about your need or not for Apple’s File Provider extension architecture and all that. Sorry.
