Dancing, yes, but I’m not at all sure about the kissing. Only in a modern bodice-ripping adaptation for TV, and they wouldn’t stop at the kissing.
That having been said, however, the interminable circumlocutions of nineteenth century novels certainly facilitate the otherwise challenging task of supplying the desired complement of one thousand five hundred words…
no no no, mine won;t be a dream - it will be a mirage. The dream is yours and yours alone. I’m truly stuffed with because I don’t understand any of the words in the brief. Every explanation uses more words I don;t understand.
@pigfender Can I just check something - i have a character as “Unknown name” - does this mean I can call him what I like as he is only going to be in my chapter I think!?
@CeramicFairy, send me anything you need to get to the bottom of that isn’t clear from a search engine. I have sources (although several have suggested Piggy needs to be roasted).
Layman’s terms on wtf this means please (taking into account that I don’t know what Special Operations, Special Forces, Combat Applications, Joint Special Operations Command, Special Tactics, or National Command Authority are/do!):
The 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment–Delta (1st SFOD-D), commonly referred to as “Delta Force”, “Combat Applications Group” (CAG), “The Unit”, or within Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) as “Task Force Green”, is a special operations force of the United States Army, under operational control of the JSOC. The unit is tasked with missions primarily involving counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, direct action, and special reconnaissance, often against high-value targets. Delta Force and its Navy and Air Force counterparts, DEVGRU and the 24th Special Tactics Squadron, are the U.S. military’s tier one special mission units tasked with performing the most complex, classified, and dangerous missions directed by the National Command Authority.
Thanks… I usually LOVE doing this, but today feels like stress and no fun
That’s all just background for people who want it. I personally would ignore it all if i was writing a chapter. I mean, how many times do you really explain your work line management structure in your day to day life?
Some people like the context, and info on Delta Force can be hard to find so I wanted to save time for those that wanted to contextualise some background of what may have forged these characters. But as @Camy said - ignore it if you prefer. It’s never good to let too much of your research show, anyway!
Definitely - My glass is half full - as I’ve drunk half of it already - and when I say “a glass” - I mean one of those uncouth glasses that holds a whole bottle of wine! (ooh the shame!)
