I actually suspect my main problem today is last night’s drinks…
As piggy said, this is ignorable. Folks like me enjoy shaking our heads at it, but in the end it is nothing more than the organizational designation. Think of it like “the IT group of the marketing department in the corporation” (where the corporation kills people for the government).
- Special Operations: a specialized part of the army that works on a separate mandate from traditional Army (big Army to the SpecOps guys).
- Special Forces (SF): elements within the Spec Ops that have jurisdiction over regional areas of the globe
- Combat Applications: well… simply put, killing people. In the end it is about the efficacy of combat. That means that you need people that are good at it’ The CAG specializes in getting it done as a team.
• JSOC: this is the organization that hold all the Spec Ops units accountable to operational directions. - Special Tactics: this are skill not promoted in big Army but are necessary to the success of SF/SpecOps teams.
• National Command Authority: Think “answers to the top” and this is the top. From a military perspective these are the guys that can tell you “change what you are doing and support this action”.

I don’t know about that… I’m one bottle down. and I’ve surprisingly only 139 words on the page. I need to stop engaging my research sources and focus on… more drinking!
I will admit to having accidentally napped for a few hours. Luckily for me the bottle was more than willing to be opened well before the sun (or anyone else with a life) was awake.
I have a tiny weeny inkling I’d have written words on the page if I had written fewer words here…

I’m in - Whiskey feels better for covert ops though even though it’s only lunch time. Fantasizing about being in a different time zone. Can’t believe I wasted so much time sleeping.
