I can’t get Scrivener to launch and need some advice on how best to install - still learning how to use Linux but I had previously managed to get Scrivener to run no problem on an older version of Ubuntu from this site on the same laptop I’m using now (old Sony Vaio - just swapped out the HDD for an SSD and installed the latest version of Ubuntu as the main OS).
I downloaded the scrivener.188.8.131.52-amd64.deb file and installed through GDebi with no obvious issues and although I can see the Scrivener icon nothing happens when I click on it.
When I ran it through Terminal this is what I got:
/usr/share/scrivener/bin/Scrivener: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I’d thought that GDebi helped fix library issues? If there is a different version/way I should be trying to install I’m all ears.
